【学部教育】
国際保健看護学、卒業論文、総合実習、英語科目を担当しています。国際保健看護学では、単に諸外国の医療や看護を理解するに留まらず、各国・地域の歴史・社会システムの変遷との関連から健康問題や医療・保健・看護問題の本質について学びます。学内外の講師陣と共に、途上国・先進国における諸問題を取り上げています。ZOOMを使用して海外の教員の講義や海外の大学との共同講義も行っています。また、身近な問題として在日外国人の健康問題なども取り上げ、地球市民としての自覚に立脚した看護専門職としての国際感覚を養うことを目的に、しています。英語科目は英語を学ぶことが目的ではなく、英語で異文化を学んでいます。
【大学院共通科目】
大学院共通科目である国際看護研究方法論では、留学生と共に全て英語で教授しています。また、ZOOM等を利用し、海外講師による遠隔講義や大学院生のプレゼンテーション発信も行っています。国際舞台で要求されるプレゼンテーションおよび質疑応答技術、研究論文投稿・査読等におけるアカデミックマナーの習得と共に、国際舞台でその能力を発揮できるよう、英語によるコミュニケーション能力の向上を目指しています。例年5人以下の少人数クラスにおいて、国際学会等における自己紹介から、模擬学会発表における研究プレゼンテーション・ディスカッション、レセプションにおけるビジネスマナーまで、参加型英語演習を取り入れて段階的に教授しています。受講した学生より、初めての海外研修や国際学会への参加時に「非常に役立った」という評価を得ています。また、博士論文を書くときに困らないように、研究計画書の段階から英語で書く訓練を行っています。
【研究】
日米で医療システム・文化的な違いがある中でその比較を通し、各国の実情と社会ニーズに即したシステムを探求し、国際的視点からそれぞれの患者に適したQOLを向上させるための看護ケアプログラム/看護方法の開発を目指しています。米国ワシントン大学、インドネシアのパジャジャラン大学、香港理工大学の教員との共同で、「大学生のコントロール感と健康管理行動との関連について国際比較」、米国テキサス大学の教員と共同研究「急性冠症候群患者のコントロール感とアウトカムの関連について日米比較」を行っています。さらに日本のグローバル化教育を行うための看護教員に対する支援についての研究も行っています。大学院生は留学生の健康管理や外国人看護師の日本での活躍と困難について探求しています。
