University History and Development

Tokyo Medical and Dental University (new system) was established
in accordance with Japan’s National School Establishment Law.
The School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine,
and the School of Dentistry,
Faculty of Dentistry were established. The Faculty of
Medicine’s Women’s Department of Health and Welfare was
renamed to the School of
Nursing affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine.

The Graduate School of Medicine and Graduate School of
Dentistry were established.
Pre-medical and pre-dental courses were established
within the University of Chiba’s Faculty of
Humanity and Sciences (abolished in March, 1958).

Pre-medical and pre-dental courses were
established at Konodai branch school.

A medical technologist school affiliated with the
Faculty of Medicine was established.

The Graduate School of Medicine’s research track was
renamed to the Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
Graduate School of Medical Sciences was
established with a Health Care Sciences major.

Biological Infection Control Major (PhD)
at the Graduate School of Medical and
Dental Science was established.
Health Care Sciences Major (PhD)
at the Graduate School of
Medical and Dental Science was established.

Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences was
established with 3 majors.

The Medical and Dental Research Support Center was established
The Integrated Education Support Center of the
Medicine and Dentistry was established.

The Student Support and Health Administration
Organization was established

The Graduate School of Health Care Sciences’
General Health Care and Nursing Science major was reorganized
as the Nursing Innovation Science major.
The Cooperative Doctoral Course
in Disaster Nursing was
established at the Graduate School of Health Care Sciences.

The Institute of Education and the Institute of
Global Affairs were established.

The Institute of Research, the Institute of
Integrated Hospital Administration, and the Institute of
Information Technology were established.

The Graduate School of Health Sciences
(Biomedical Sciences and Engineering major) was
reorganized into the Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences
(Biomedical Sciences and Engineering degree
in the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering track).
The Institute of University
Innovation Advancement was established.

The TMDU Advanced Research Institute was established

The Institute of Open Innovation was established
